The day you receive this issue of Strait Talk will be the first day of End-of-Grade testing for the 2007- 2008 school year. Graduation and the last day of school will be a mere three weeks away. As we approach the completion of another successful year at Magellan, I want to thank you, our parents for your dedication to ensuring the success of the children in our school family. Your strong level of commitment to helping us meet their needs only serves to strengthen our sense of community.

I also want to recognize our students for their motivation and hard work this year. They have come to school each day with open minds and hearts, ready to tackle the challenges we have thrown their way.

Finally, I must bid "bon voyage" to our graduating 8th graders and their parents. I am privileged to say that I came to Magellan with these students five years ago in 2003, therefore, they are the first class I have seen go all the way through. They leave us with many fond memories that I know I will always hold close to my heart.
